Looking Back at a Powerful Summer with S.T.Y.L.E. — and Ahead to 2026

The Summer Training in Youth Leadership & Employment (S.T.Y.L.E.) Program, proudly funded by the City of St. Petersburg, wrapped up another incredible season — and the impact has been inspiring.

What is S.T.Y.L.E.?

S.T.Y.L.E. is an expansive and immersive summer experience designed to equip youth with essential workplace skills and leadership capabilities. The program covers:

Entrepreneurship
Financial literacy
Team building
Problem-solving and critical thinking
Effective business communication
Professional appearance and demeanor

Each participant gains the tools needed to succeed in future academic and professional settings. The program enrolls twenty-five youth ages 14 to 16, runs over three weeks in July, and is hosted at the Pinellas County Urban League headquarters. Students attend workshops three afternoons a week, and all who successfully complete the program receive a financial stipend.

Summer 2025 Highlights

This year, S.T.Y.L.E. participants connected with local business owners, explored personal branding, and mapped out future goals. They even had the incredible opportunity to hear directly from Mayor Ken Welch about his journey to leadership and the dedication it takes to serve the city each day.
