EmpowHer Girls Summit 2025: Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders

We’re still feeling the energy and impact of this year’s PCUL EmpowHer Girls Summit — a powerful half-day experience dedicated to inspiring middle and high school girls to lead, innovate, and thrive.

Hosted each summer by the Pinellas County Urban League as part of our EmpowHer and My Sister’s Keeper programs, the Girls Summit is more than a conference — it’s a movement. Our mission is to equip the next generation of changemakers with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to shape their futures and their communities.

A Day of Learning, Leadership, and Inspiration

This year’s summit brought together dynamic leaders, engaging workshops, and hands-on learning experiences:

  • Social Savvy with Lynn Harrel-Johnson, Community Tech House – Navigating the digital world with confidence and responsibility.

  • Money Moves with Precious Green, Regions Bank – Building financial literacy and smart money habits for life.

  • Zen Zone with LaTreca Ali and Jamie McClendon – Practicing mindfulness, stress management, and self-care.

  • Campus Tour of Pinellas Technical College – Exploring career pathways and higher education opportunities.

The day kicked off with an empowering keynote by Natasha Walker of NuBody Soul, setting the tone for inspiration, growth, and possibility.

Community Champions Who Made It Possible

Special thanks to Vice Chair Caprice Edmond of Pinellas County Schools, Kathleen Young-Parker, Dr. Jason Shedrick, the entire PTC team, and our incredible volunteers for helping make the day a success. Your support ensures our girls have access to real-world tools for personal growth, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Looking Ahead

We can’t wait to do this all again next year! With continued community partnership, the EmpowHer Girls Summit will remain a launching pad for young women ready to embrace their potential and take on the world.
