YIGBY & Faith-Based Housing Informational Session

  • Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg 2333 34th Street South St. Petersburg, Florida, 33711 United States (map)

Faith communities have an opportunity to play a meaningful role in addressing local housing needs.

Congregational leaders and representatives are invited to attend the free YIGBY & Faith-Based Housing Informational Session to explore how faith-owned land may be used to expand housing options in St. Petersburg. Participants will learn about the city’s housing needs, the YIGBY initiative and the Faith Community Housing Assistance Program.

The session will offer a clear introduction to the legal and local housing landscape while helping congregations understand what responsible participation could look like. Conversations will focus on mission alignment, stewardship, partnership opportunities and the different roles a congregation may consider. Congregations do not need to have housing development experience or serve as the developer to begin exploring what may be possible.

Participants will also hear lessons from local faith and housing leaders, discuss questions and concerns with their peers and begin identifying the people and communities they may feel called to serve.

This session is designed to help congregations move from curiosity to informed discernment while connecting them with the guidance and resources needed to consider their next steps.

Registration is required. Scan the QR code on the flyer to reserve your place.

Sponsored by the City of St. Petersburg and facilitated by the Florida Housing Coalition.
