October 1, 2020, St. Petersburg, Fl: On Friday, October 2,2020, the Pinellas County Urban League will officially kick off a massive Get Out The Vote campaign. The “Reclaim Your Vote-Protest To Power” is a partnership with the National Urban League, NAACP and BET (Black Entertainment Television) and the Divine 9 (National Black Fraternities and Sororities).
The campaign will be a full 30 day non-partisan campaign designed to turnout the vote. Volunteers will partner with organizations to conduct rallies, Phone bank, provide voter education about the issues and candidates.
The kick off event will take place with a photo session at 11:00 AM October 2, 2020.
The campaign will feature shirts, door hangers, palm cards, face masks and buttons. Watson L. Haynes, President and CEO of the Pinellas County Urban League said “a massive turnout at the polls will give the people the chance to voice their real choices for elected officials from the top of the ballot to the bottom”.
Others involved in the effort at the signature programs of the Urban League, NULITES (National Urban League Incentives To Excel and Succeed) 10 – 18year old, Urban League Young Professionals 20- 45 year old, and the Urban League Guild 40 years old plus.
