45th Annual Equal Opportunity Day Gala

The Pinellas County Urban League is hosting its 45th Annual EOD Gala. 

This year's theme is "Honoring A Community Hero".

The Pinellas County Urban League has been serving the community for over 45 years. The agency's mission is to increase social inclusion, educational competitiveness, and economic prosperity in the African-American the population of Pinellas County and strengthen relationships with our partners.

We accomplish this by providing programs that enhance personal growth skills, job readiness training, financial literacy education, entrepreneurship development opportunities, civic engagement initiatives, and various other services that meet the needs of hardworking families.

This year, we will celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved former President and CEO, the late Rev. Watson L. Haynes, II. His 10-year tenure as President and CEO afforded him opportunities to develop and expand relationships with the community and corporate partners, emphasizing business, labor, and industry to enhance the Urban League’s Mission. The Urban League advanced tremendously under Rev. Haynes’ leadership. He will be most remembered as a voting rights advocate. He was known for getting "souls to the polls". He could be heard saying," A vote less people is a hopeless people".

Join us as we honor him for being the Community Hero we all grew to know and love.

The night will be one to remember. There will be live music by the Beat Down Band, a silent auction, a dinner buffet, and a cash bar.
